Located at 610 Davis St, Evanston, IL 60201, Taste of Nepal operates as a vegetarian serving Evanston in Illinois. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. North Indian and Nepali food. Looks like they have a more expansive Nepali items here than other similar places. I have only had their vegetarian food, but it's been uniformly tasty. The Egg Curry especially was very well done. Plus they seem to have a slightly bigger options for lentils based dishes, things like Aloo Chana etc. Good option for downtown Evanston for Indian/Nepali vegetarian. The Tandoori Roti I got was raw in places though, so maybe get that only for dining in as you can ask for replacement.

The food here is absolutely amazing! Authentic Nepali flavors that remind me of home. The momo was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the Chicken Biryani was fresh and filling. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place if you want real Nepali taste!

generally this was decent, but as someone who loves Nepalese (and Indian) food, this was just one of the middling experiences I've had. we ordered the Non-veg dinner for two, as well as the steamed chicken Momo, and it was all fine, if not just a tad underwhelming. both the chicken tikka and goat curry were a bit on the milder side flavor wise, and the momo (momo being my favorite type of dumpling ever) felt like it was also missing something to stand out. they gave us a dessert which I assume to be Lal Mohan (aka Gulab Jamun) and that one was bad. a very rubbery texture: you can hear squeaking when you chewed it, it was not pleasant. all in all it was still generally decent, if anything I would come back to get take out of just a simple curry dish, but I wouldn't for a big dinner outing or anything.

Really great dishes!! We tried pani puri for the first time and it did not disappoint, so tangy and refreshing! Also found my fav tikka masala in the chicago land area 🩷

Taste of Nepal had some solid flavors, but the overall experience fell short due to pacing issues. The chow mein was well seasoned, the shrimp tandoori nicely spiced, and the Jhol momos were decent (though a bit light in flavor and too soupy). Unfortunately, the pacing and attentiveness of service detracted from the meal - it took over 30 minutes for the momos to arrive, dishes came out of order, and no one checked in during the meal. Decent food, but the service left a lot to be desired.
